Personal Branding: what it is and why you need it!
Today we talk about a very interesting topic and we do it with Tommaso Sorchiotti, Creative Digital Manager and author of several bestsellers on Personal Branding and new media.
Here are his valuable advice on how to build your own personal brand:
WHAT IS THE PERSONAL BRANDING?
Personal Branding is a process that applies to an individual with the aim of enhancing his/her talent and set up effective communication. It is therefore a series of activities to get to be chosen by people with whom we want to work, either we offer a product or a service.
WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT?
Because today communication and reputation of each brand are fundamental. And every person who is on the market actually becomes … a Brand. Think about how the information available online are decisive in choosing a new phone, a restaurant, a vacation, as well as a professionist which rely. Many, after meeting a person, seek information on him/her online. Or even just the pictures, to see what he/she looks like!
WHAT IS THE PERSONAL BRANDING ABOUT?
Being a process of personal growth, it is divided into phases. The starting point is an analysis of the strengths and uniqueness of the person, tied to what you want to offer. Then we develop a communication plan and a marketing plan functional to objectives. After that we go to the true promotion phase.
IS IT ONLY ABOUT THE ONLINE WORLD?
Absolutely no. Personal Branding doesn’t use just Internet and social networks. The revolution of the online world is that offers communication tools accessible to everybody: through a blog, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram, for example, you can achieve a large target. An old American theory says that you need 1,000 authentic fans to make a sustainable business. And 1000 E not an unattainable number for those who use well online and offline!
DOES THE PERSONAL BRANDING WORK FOR EVERYBODY?
In theory yes. It works for all people who want to grow. Unless you are the best and well known of an area, it’s not enough to be on the market, you need to study and practice, confront with other professionals, understand how to improve to become good and offer something that people want to buy.
